Blue Current – Lapis Fish And Lava Necklace

I designed Blue Current for the person who trusts their own instinct and is not afraid to wear colour in a way that feels completely personal.

The combination of deep blue lapis lazuli, textured black lava and vivid yellow silk came together with such a strong sense of energy that the necklace almost seemed to find its own direction as I worked. The contrast feels bold and unexpected, while the carved lapis fish adds movement, character and a playful sense of freedom.

I wanted this piece to feel expressive without trying too hard. It is for someone who chooses jewellery because it speaks to them, because the colours, textures and details feel familiar in some way, and because they want to wear something that reflects their own personality rather than follow a trend.

Each bead is individually hand knotted on natural silk, allowing the necklace to move beautifully and giving every stone its own space. The natural variations in the lapis and lava make every piece feel unique, while the sterling silver details add a subtle finish without taking attention away from the gemstones.

For me, Blue Current is about confidence, movement and individuality. It is about trusting what draws you in and allowing yourself to choose what feels right.
